Housing has emerged as a major priority for our chapter. Throughout the region, the high cost of housing and relatively low wages for farm workers have created a crisis that jeopardizes the agricultural economy. Building off the work of the Hudson Valley Farmer Housing Working Group in 2022 and 2023, HVYFC is pursuing policy campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels to jump-start responsible, farmer-led development solutions to this crisis.
